REGISTRATION
Registration is open!
Our event includes a 5K race for both adults and children, and lots of other kids’ activities, followed by a raffle at the end. Feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns at jrboard@expandinglives.org.
Check-in and race day registration opens at 7:00am.
The 5K race starts at 8:00am for runners and at 8:15am for walkers.
The Expanding Lives 5K Run/Walk has a course that is run primarily on the asphalt path that winds through Erickson Woods Forest Preserve and finishes back at the start line. For a look at the course map, please see: www.expandinglives.org.
REGISTRATION INFO
Before August 13th, registration fee is $30 for adults and $25 for children (12 or younger). After August 13th the fees are $35 for adults and $30 for children. Race day registration fees (exact cash only) – $35 for adults, $30 for children. Team prices will be $25 at all times. One team consists of max 10 people. You can join a team or be a captain to make your own team. A team password can be shared and used at registration to sign up for a specific team.
DIRECTIONS AND PARKING
From the South: take the Edens north and get off at the Willow Road East exit. Erickson Woods is on the left as you get off the highway. There is a parking lot at Erickson Woods. If you arrive a little later and there is no parking, there are a number of small side streets on the opposite side of Willow Road about a half block east of the Erickson Woods parking lot. There are also a few strip malls and office complexes with parking lots on the other side of the Edens (west of Erickson Woods).
VOLUNTEERS
If you are interested in volunteering at this event, please contact our volunteer coordinator at: jrboard@expandinglives.org. Volunteers are expected to help set up, facilitate, and clean up the race, from 5:30am to 12:00pm on August 20th. Volunteers will be given a free T-shirt and free breakfast for their help. We welcome volunteers that are not available for the entire time, but the T-shirt and breakfast will not be guaranteed.
AMENITIES AND PRIZES
Breakfast and water will be provided for all participants. T-shirts are ensured for all those (adult and children) who register before August 13th. Prizes are available for top finishers in each category and raffle prizes from local businesses are available for all.
